Lunch January 22nd: Roast Boar with Spätzle and Glazed Carrots
Vienna (where I study and live next to Innsbruck which is my hometown where I am during the holidays and some weekends here and there) has this amazing place called "Schachtelwirt" (Box Innkeeper) - it's a group of guys who entirely re-define take-away food, combining it with a modernised traditional Austrian cuisine and it's brilliant, especially because they're so affordable. Their menu changes every week (save for their signature dish, Roast Pork with dumplings) and that one was on it for last week. IT WAS SO GOOD, OMG.
Lunch January 23rd: Wiener Schnitzel with Fries
I honestly don't know what got into me that day, but I had this sudden massive craving of Schnitzel (???) which I needed to satisfy, haha. Never happened to me before, but I gave in - there were two of them of this size and I only got through one and maybe a third before giving up, but it was insanely delicious.
Dinner January 23rd: Bubble Waffle with Nutella, Banana and Almonds
Tasted pretty much as amazing as it looks.
Afternoon Snack January 24th: Chocolate Éclair & Hot Chocolate
Didn't taste quite as good as it looks, but it was still pretty nice! Also I hadn't had breakfast or lunch, so that was basically that?
Dinner January 24th: Lasagna & Rosemary Focaccia
My conservatoire is located in a mall that has an Italian restaurant we tend to spend our breaks in - I still had two classes, so my bff treated me for dinner there as a Birthday present - this was seriously the best Focaccia I've ever had, OMG.
Belated Dessert & Digestif January 24th: Fried Ice Cream & Mocktail
Fancy ending to my Birthday! I don't drink alcohol, so this was a mocktail (forgot its name, but it's delicious, not too sweet!), and a belated dessert for dinner - Vanilla ice cream covered in cornflakes with honey and cinnamon, super super good.
Dinner January 27th: Pizza Hawaii
I was home in Innsbruck for the weekend! There is this pizza place that my parents and I have gone to since... I don't know, since forever haha, and this is the pizza I've almost constantly ordered since I was little. It's actually the Hawaii just with the Ham replaced, and yes I am one of those weird people who love pineapple on their pizza. And banana. It's the best one, and also the reason why I can't find a pizza place in Vienna that I like - except for Domino's which only just opened a year-ish ago.
Dinner January 30th: Tempura Prawns, Teriyaki Salmon with Fried Egg Rice, Cherry Cheesecake
I love prawns and fish (salmon is my favourite, also in sushi), and I was home the entire day so I decided to just order out at my favourite Asian restaurant in Vienna - I love nearly everything they do, but I was in such a big mood for fish! The Teriyaki Salmon is what I usually get, and it did not disappoint <333. Their Cherry Cheesecake is new, so I decided to try it, and it was super super good! ♥
Dinner January 31st: Strawberry Basil Lemonade, Mac & Cheese with Garlic Bread, BBQ Pulled Pork and Bacon, Vanilla Ice Cream with Hot Fudge Sauce
The Hard Rock Café! One of my favourite places to eat at - I still had a Birthday Coupon for a free Entrée expiring today, so I dragged my poor bff to dinner with me today, haha. I always get the Strawberry Basil Lemonade to drink because it's so good, and always have such difficulties deciding on what to eat. The Mac & Cheese are my favourite, and they only just added a BBQ Pulled Pork option instead of the chicken, so I decided to be brave and try that, haha. It so did not disappoint - it's so tender and so much better than the chicken, OMG. ♥ I was so full once I was done, but by the time the waiter came I had space for dessert again and got two scoops of vanilla ice cream with their super delicious Hot Fudge Sauce - it was relatively small, but perfectly enough to avoid overeating. And I'm in love with their Hot Fudge, soooo... ♥
