Glimpse At My Day 2017.11.12 - Macau

I was feeling a little down lately, and then I knew I would come up rather busy next week so, yesterday I decided to do a Glimpse At My Day (or A Day In My Life)

Cross-posted at my LJ notte0

My day started early at 5.30am as I wanted to do a morning run! I'm used to running at night, but I've been trying to change my Sunday runs to the morning. There's still much timing work on as I'd like to switch all my runs to morning, but I need to time it well so that I still have time to walk the dogs, then get to work on the weekdays. Don't even ask about "what about taking your dogs for a run?" because, they are unwilling to wake up, LOL!!!!

IMG_5664.PNG IMG_5669.JPG IMG_5671.PNG

I check the Runkeeper program, get my music app going (JOOX, I guess it's something like Spotify), and do my run.

IMG_5673.PNG IMG_5672.PNG IMG_5681.PNG

I did around 2.5 laps around the lake running, completing the 5KM,  and walked the rest of the way. With each lap it got lighter :D As I was running I couldn't really stop and focus on the photo so the middle one's all blurry haha.

IMG_5677.JPG IMG_5678.JPG IMG_5679.JPG

During my walk, I had more time for photos... so.... the Macau Tower and a post-running selfie

IMG_5757.JPG IMG_5740.JPG

It's also right smack in the midst of the "Food Festival" in Macau, and the area around the lake is the poor victim of this... festival...

IMG_5756.JPG IMG_5755.JPG IMG_5754.JPG

This happens every year in November. We have the Food Festival and then the Grand Prix right in the middle of it... it's just confusion because it'll just be attracting people people and people and where there are people there's destruction (in this case pollution).

IMG_5762.JPG IMG_5760.JPG

If it isn't clear from my comments about it... I actually hate it.

Anyway, some more things I see along the way going home... a Chinese junk ship and some old fortress wall (now the building is the Portuguese Consul's Residence)

IMG_5768.JPG IMG_5770.JPG

I get home, and nobody's up yet (it's around 7.30) so I take a short nap... finally some of the humans (my Dad and my Sis) wake up and we take the doggies out!

IMG_5775.JPG IMG_5780.JPG

Dogs of course, have a grand time being out.

IMG_5794.JPG IMG_5791.JPG IMG_5789.JPG

On the way home, I deal with my Animal Crossing matters in the car... the dogs have their satisfied grins LOL

IMG_5810.PNG IMG_5809.JPG IMG_5808.JPG

They demand for food, so we feed them (standard procedure daily)

IMG_5812.JPG IMG_5813.JPG

I then wash my hair. I wasn't feeling icky so I skipped a shower since last night I forgot about my intention to run this morning, and showered last night already. Thank goodness for the fresh weather now. After my hair wash I put on face creams and whatnot on my face.

Breakfast! Dad decided to get 豬腸粉 literally, "Pigs' Intestines Flour (Pasta). Essentially it's just a kind of rice flour pasta thing rolled up and then cut into pieces. The name "Pigs' Intestines" refer to before it being cut. In truth, it's the most nutritionally redundant item ever created. The rice flour rolls have nothing - then it's simply served in a mixture of soya sauce, sweet sauce, and sesame sauce (more like sesame butter). Those who like it add chili sauce or chili paste and that's it. This one we got is served with some Shiu Mai 燒賣 and of course the dog is begging someone for food. Close up for you to see the rolls. You can blow up the photo to see it.

IMG_5822.JPG IMG_5823.JPG IMG_5824.JPG

Next to do is back to my room and make my bed. Oh lookie, the cat is still sleeping on my Sister's bed!

IMG_5828.JPG IMG_5829.JPG IMG_5827.JPG

I try to coordinate something out and decide to use the steam iron.

IMG_5831.JPG IMG_5833.JPG IMG_5834.JPG

Usually I don't put make up on on the weekends but today for lunch we are going to have a big family lunch to celebrate my Dad's birthday (last week... but the birthday meal is done this week because almost half the family was not available last week). I bought a new Physician's Formular loose powder thingie but was surprised to see it come with a brush. How the heck do you put loose powder with a brush? I tried but I doubt I got it properly done. I might just pour the powder into my other powder box and use my puff as usual. And that eyebrow stamp thing I got from my Mom, she bought it in Taiwan... LOL I tried it but my brows are still naturally full... so after using it, I think I look like Angry Birds LOL

IMG_5830.JPG IMG_5841.JPG IMG_5842.JPG

My before make up and after make up look LOL. Actually I still looked terrible after make up so I changed the angle so I can get more natural light to make it look as if I look better LOL. And the brows just crack me up LOL!!!

IMG_5840.JPG IMG_5849.JPG

After getting ready, the cats are still sleeping on my Sis' bed. I bring in a huge bag of laundry to fold, and put Netflix on to just have some background noise. In the end, I chose to watch Lucifer.

IMG_5851.JPG IMG_5853.JPG IMG_5854.JPG

Then we head to the restaurant. Still only around half the family showed up (some are sick, some went out of town), so it was pretty much the same if we had the celebrations last week *shrugs*. Anyway, it's a buffet and I try not to stuff myself. Well, I did stuff myself, but mainly with salad and greens. The Rocket Lettuce was so sharp yesterday, I needed some extra flavorful sides to help kill the sharpness.

IMG_5861.JPGIMG_5863.JPGIMG_5862.JPG

The restaurant kindly served us a cake. Too huge, if you ask me.

IMG_5865.JPG IMG_5872.JPG

Then we went home. We had to pass part of the Grand Prix route... and that will be THIS weekend. Again... It's gonna be excruciating. When we got home... one of the dogs was still sleeping. I guess it's her age that she sleeps more now and doesn't hear when people get home...

IMG_5881.JPG IMG_5887.JPG

At home, I decided to go on the massage chair since Mom complains that she bought a massage chair but no one uses it *eyeroll* First I had to remove a cat though. And then a dog jumps up to me and decides to be a lapdop *more eyeroll*

IMG_5890.JPG IMG_5892.JPG IMG_5897.JPG
IMG_5899.JPG IMG_5895.JPG

Apparently I conked out, and when I came to, the dog was gone, but still in my view, eyeing at a fly that was flying around. Then I relocated to Mom's bed just to have a chat with Mom and kill time until the dogs' dinner, which I forgot to get photographic proof.

IMG_5902.JPG IMG_5909.JPG

Night walkies!

IMG_5912.JPG IMG_5915.JPG

One of the dogs that still have Pancreatitis have to go to the vet daily for his daily saline drip... so we went there. At the vet's this little puppy is sick! I later learned from my rescue group that he got some form of parasite thing... Babesia Canin(?) and Babesia Gibsoni(?) Poor little thing. His name is Curry. I'm going to deposit some donation for him later today.

IMG_5916.JPG

I started to get a splitting headache, especially when I bent down to clean up the dogs' poop during their walkies. I knew I was getting sick, but my Dad was worried that it could be a blood pressure problem, so he asked me to check it. Voila super normal blood pressure.

IMG_5917.JPG IMG_5919.JPG

Then I sat down at my desk to do random things... I'm not very good at water coloring but I bought this water-brush thing and a palette of dry water color so I was just trying out the color and the brush. I finished writing 2 letters last week and got the wax out to stamp it. Then I had a look at a souvenir gift I got from my cousin today.

IMG_5923.JPG IMG_5922.JPG IMG_5921.JPG

I heard some screaming and apparently 2 stupid dogs went into the cat sand stole some shit to eat. Here, gloriously, the two shit-eating dogs and one of them with their shit-eating grins LOL

IMG_5930.JPG IMG_5927.JPG

My headache was getting the better of me so I went for a shower and my night cream-and-whatever routine

IMG_5932.JPG IMG_5933.JPG

Then I just sat in my bed and read some. Since I hadn't read any Chinese in a long time, I took a Chinese book out (mainly mindless essays) and read around 3 essays. Since I'm not totally fluent in reading Chinese, it was a slow read and I'm serious about reading Chinese, so I had a dictionary handy. Anyway, due to my insistence to check out all the words, it's usually a very slow and tiring read for me.

IMG_5937.PNG IMG_5936.PNG IMG_5934.JPG

Oh yeah, I also put on my "moisturing socks" that I bought in Taiwan a while ago. It helps to keep my feet skin from cracking, so I put the on while I was reading. After the Chinese book, I took my Kindle and read more of my current book. Almost finished, maybe I can finish it one of these night.

IMG_5935.JPG IMG_5942.JPG

Finally, I couldn't stand it anymore, and it was lights off. Even the dog's sleeping soundly by then. Time check, that was around 23.30.

IMG_5946.JPG

This was an exceptionally long day for me because I wanted to do the morning run. Otherwise I'd be up at around 8-ish on a Sunday. It was nice to have a busy day once in a while!
