Temperature: High of 100, humidity 21%
I wake up at just around 7. The alarm went off for Justin to get to work.
I feed the dog and the cat breakfast. Checkers eats out of this interesting contraption because he eats too fast otherwise.
I hear Justin stirring from the bedroom, so I make us both a cup of coffee. He gets the mug that says QUEEN.
I spy on Justin as he leaves the house.
I have a bowl of multigrain cheerios.
I had just finished the book A Man Called Ove days prior, so I turn the movie version on amazon.
Isabelle and Checkers block the view. I turn it off after not too long, because I wasn't paying enough attention and the movie was subtitled.
I sit and write some postcrossing postcards.
I turn a show on hulu, but it's so dumb I turn it off. I can't even remember what it was called, but it was dumb.
And then I start updating my journal.
During journaling, Justin calls me and asks if I am leaving soon. I told him I didn't really have plans on when to leave. He asked if I could bring him breakfast - he forgot to eat and he was hungry. So that put the fire under my butt - it's time to go!
I get dressed and put on my elephant print dress by Agnes & Dora.
I leave the house just before 9.
First stop: Starbucks. The drive-thru line is WAY too long, so I go in. The store is so busy and after ordering I have to wait 15 minutes. I should have ordered the drinks via the mobile app, oh well. I got Justin a spinach, feta, egg wrap and an iced green tea. I got a dirty chai latte.
And then I go to the dealership and drop Justin's breakfast off. The other sales guys were all jealous.
And then I drive to Palm Desert. I find the DSW and am in a heaven of shoes.
I didn't quite find what I was looking for, but these will work. I'm going to a wedding on the 15th (the day I've challenged you to document!) I wanted a pair of gold shoes, but I hated the gold shoes they had. I also was thinking flats, but they weren't working. These were comfy for heels. I bought these and then a pair of $11 flats I can wear to work.
TJ Maxx is the next stop. It's in the same complex. But I don't see anything I want.
And then I go into Marshall's, also right in the same complex. I bought an oven mit, a shirt for Justin which is too small and I have to return, and a shirt for my Halloween costume.
Next stop! This wasn't actually in the plans, but Whole Foods was and this was right next to it. So I had to. I bought a small red Le Creuset baking dish to complete my set of 4 and a porcelain berry basket. I need 5 more of those to make Christmas presents for Justin's family.
Then I get Jimmy John's for lunch. This was my first time at Jimmy John's and I was less than impressed.
Final stop is Whole Foods. I had heard Amazon had lowered the prices there, but everything was still expensive as sin. I bought some peanut butter for Justin, the kombuchas which were on sale, the yogurt on sale, and the bone broth which I had a rebate for.
And then I head home. It takes about an hour to get home.
I get home and let the dog out, who does his business.
I scanned my purchases into NCP, the National Consumer Panel.
And I also scanned them into Ibotta to get that rebate for the broth. I've earned so much money from this app.
The house is HOT HOT HOT! We don't have air conditioning, so I turn on the swamp cooler and hope for the best.
I sit down and turn on a show on Hulu. It sucks. Off it goes.
And then I decide to vacuum. The thing stops working and I do some googling. It turns out there was a clog in the powerhead. I unclog it and back to normal. I love this vacuum cleaner.
I curl up and read for awhile.
In an hour and a half the house has cooled off considerably.
At 5:30 I feed the pets their dinner.
And after dinner, they get their ears cleaned.
I load up the dishwasher and get it running.
Dinner prep begins.
Dinner is served! Turkey sloppy joes and a spinach salad.
Justin texts me that he's going to be running late.
The house is finally a little more tolerable. I don't know what happened to my shower picture, but I take a shower and cool off a lot more.
I clear off the one of our couches which had been covered in stuff. Then I scrub the walls in the kitchen. The spots aren't coming off. Google says it's because it's a flat paint and not washable. So we've decided we're going to put a backsplash in instead.
Justin's home right at about 9. He eats his dinner and then we sit and watch TV for like 10 minutes before we decide it's time for bed.
I turn the smaller swamp cooler off. The big one stays on all night.
While Justin's showering, I do my evening routine.
And then we all go to bed.
