I had promised some of you that I would share my Halloween so you could see my costume - so I did it!
My alarm goes off at 6 and I get up.
I had a hard time getting out of bed and no wonder why! It's 57 degrees in the house! So I turn the heat up.
I make myself a cup of coffee. We've been using the French press we received as a wedding gift almost exclusively.
I sit on the couch and drink my coffee and cuddle Isabelle. She's been quite needy since we got back from the honeymoon.
At 7:15 I get ready for the day.
And by 7:45 I'm out the door.
This isn't the best angle, but this is what I wore to work.
Most of my morning is spent in court.
I actually work through lunch and leave the office at about 1:30. I'm out for the day.
I forgot to take a picture of my first stop. First I went to the thrift shop and bought a blazer for 25 cents (which I later sold on poshmark for $20.) Then I went to Walgreens and picked up a prescription.
My next stop is Firehouse Subs.
I get home and I free this boy.
I open up a package I got in the mail. It's a present from my wedding registry - a serving bowl. I'm not sure why I took a picture of the box and cardboard and not the bowl.
And then I watch some Hulu.
So Justin and I started intermittent fasting. Yes, I do fad diets. But 2PM is the time I'm allowed to start eating. I eat from 2-8 and try to stay around 1600 calories.
So I eat that sandwich I bought a little earlier.
And then I munch on M&Ms.
Checkers is a little stir crazy, so we go outside and play a game of fetch.
Justin's been out all day hiking with his best friend Marlen. He comes home and wants to take a quick nap. I jump in the shower.
After the shower I get on my computer and write some reviews of the makeup company that did my hair and makeup for my wedding. They send a gift card if you fill out three reviews on three websites.
Then I paint my nails this ridiculous pink color.
Since we're going out and since it's Halloween, I set up a bowl of candy in our driveway. And yes, those are full size candy bars.
I missed getting pictures in the stores we went to because we were sort of rushing. But Justin needs two things for his costume that we didn't have yet: red Converse and a white tshirt.
We drive down to Palm Springs. On the way we stop at a gas station to get some water.
And then I missed some pictures again. We go to Marlen's apartment and meet her there. I put my wig on and she finishes getting ready. Then we head to an Italian restaurant. It was delicious but perhaps not the best Halloween choice as we were the only ones in the restaurant dressed up. But we all ordered wine.
But don't get me wrong! The food was great! I had chicken parmesan and pasta.
Marlen was Chun-Li from Street Fighter.
And here's your first glimpse at my Patti Mayonnaise costume.
So this picture doesn't do any justice to show what we first walked through after leaving dinner and heading to downtown. Halloween and Pride intersected this year, so there was a huge party in the street with DJs. I didn't pull my phone out because the crowd was just too thick. Justin had to use the bathroom so we went into a bar we all knew would be a little mellower. Justin and Marlen drank beer and I had a vodka cranberry.
Justin and Marlen played a game of pool. They somehow sunk the 8-ball without realizing it. Who knows who did it.
Introducing Doug Funnie and Patti Mayonnaise!
I drive home and we find that we had a whole zero trick or treaters.
It's way past my bedtime, so I wash my face and do my bedtime routine.
And then I conk out.
And just as a treat, here's one of my wedding pictures. I tried to document the day, but it was too hectic and I lost track really early.
See you on the 11th for our challenge day!
